“A good mid-season sale with 71% of vehicles selling, and a successful result for youngtimers like the 1990 Peugeot 205 GTI Griffe which sold for almost 50 000€.”

The Automobiles sur les Champs sale paid tribute to the expertise of the French automobile industry, presenting an Alpine A110 « première édition » (lot 26) for the first time at auction. Maitre Hervé Poulain applauded the renaissance of a marque so dear to him, and proceeded to sell this automobile for 73 904 € /90 800 $, (including premium), following a lively battle between two bidders in the room. This magnificent Alpine, number 34 in the new series, will join the collection of a European enthusiast. The Peugeot brand also drew applause, with lot 51, a 1990 Peugeot 205 GTI Griffe, selling for 48 872 € / 60 050 $, well above its high estimate of 20 000 – 40 000 € / 24 630 – 49 260 $. The 1976 Range Rover Classic (lot 41) fetched 71 520 € / 87 880 $, demonstrating that youngtimers have plenty of good times ahead !

Adding a touch of la dolce vita, an array of Italian scooters and automobiles captured the hearts of enthusiasts. A private collection of 17 Vespa and Lambretta scooters were offered at no reserve, and 95% found new owners, with many lots selling well above estimate. Lot 17, a Vespa 125N scooter, produced under ACMA licence, changed hands for 11 920 € / 14 644 $ including premium, over three times the estimate of 3 500 – 5 500 € / 4 300 – 6 750 $. Amongst the four-wheeled Italian vehicles, the 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS spider, lot 54, fetched 274 000 € / 245 700 $. A more unusual lot, the 1960 Porsche-Diesel Type 218 Standard tractor (lot 37) sold above its high estimate for 29 800 €.
