Paris, 19 March, 2018

Automobiles sur les Champs, the annual Parisian event by Artcurial Motorcars for all fans of collectors’ cars, returns to ‘La plus belle avenue du monde’ on Sunday 8 April 2018.

For this 12th edition, Artcurial Motorcars, who will present 80 vehicles, including two-thirds at no reserve, have once again unearthed some treasures amongst the models most coveted by collectors. Alongside the splendid Bugatti Type 43, an F40 and a DB6 Volante, the Alpine A110, fresh from the factory, is bound to attract great attention. This new A110, launched to mark the return of the French manufacturer, will be the first example to be offered at auction. It will be a unique opportunity for those who missed out on the chance to order this sports car when it was first presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, with production limited to 1 955 examples.

Cars will not be the only stars in this sale, with a touch of La Dolce Vita in the air on the Champs-Elysées. For the first time, Artcurial Motorcars will present a collection of scooters belonging to a French enthusiast, comprising close to twenty timeless Lambretta and Vespa models.

Matthieu Lamoure, Managing Director of Artcurial Motorcars
“The 12th edition of our Automobiles sur les Champs sale will include the models most sought after by our collectors. This year, there will also be an exclusive opportunity to bid on a 2018 “Premiere edition” Alpine A110. Popular classics will always have pride of place, and there will be a magnificent Collection of Vespas included too !”

1927 Bugatti Type 43 Torpédo Grand Sport Estimate : €500 000 – 800 000 / $618 500 – 990 000
This example of the legendary pre-war Bugatti 43 has been built largely from original Bugatti parts. The engine conforms to the 2300cc engine built by Bugatti in 1927, and was rebuilt in 2009 in one of the best French Bugatti workshops, « Roseau Racing Restauration » run by Henri Roseau, who trained at Laurent Rondoni, in Carpentras. It is a superb vehicle with a lovely patina, and runs impeccably. As time goes by, and with a few adventures and rallies under its belt, its desirability will only increase.

1989 Ferrari F40 Estimate : €750 000 - 850 000 / $930 000 - 1 100 000
A wonderful example of Il Commendatore’s final project, this 1989 F40 has had just three owners from new and is offered with its original set of luggage, ready to capture the heart of Ferrari aficionados. It was sold to its first owner by the Ferrari dealer in Mulhouse, Modena Motors, and changed hands in 1990 with just 1 500 km on the clock. The car kept its connection with Mulhouse, and has continued to be maintained by Modena Motors since then. Acquired by the current owner in 2017, it has covered 52 718 km today.

2018 Alpine A110 "Première édition" Estimate : €60 000 - 80 000 / $74 000 - 99 000
The development of the Alpine A110 marked the marque’s renaissance. Presented officially in 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show, the first example of what is already a ‘collectors’ sports car was delivered during March 2018. Production was limited to 1 955, in reference to the year the marque was created by Jean Rédélé. Orders were taken for every car. The 34th example of this limited series, this automobile was delivered new in March 2018 by the new Alpine dealership in Valence, presented in Alpine Blue and to the optimum specification. With a waiting list of six months to one year, this exclusive vehicle will delight collectors eager to lay their hands on this coveted car.

1968 Aston Martin DB6 MKI Volante Estimate : €550 000 - 750 000 / $682 000 - 930 000
We know little about the early years of this Aston Martin DB6 cabriolet Volante but according to the 1982 V5 document, there were two owners between 1978 and 1982. The car left the factory in 1968, presented in Mink with dark blue interior and hood, and is one of the rare examples built with a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox. Regularly maintained by specialists including the renowned AMK workshop in Stockholm, the car was repainted its original metallic Mink colour at the start of the 2000s, having spent some time metallic grey. This rare and desirable Aston Martin cabriolet is in remarkably original condition, and ready to offer an elegant, open-top drive for its new owner.

1957 Facel Vega FV4 Estimate : €170 000 – 230 000 / $211 000 - 285 000
The various owners of this Facel Vega FV4 have spent lavishly to provide the care and attention this car deserves. Leaving the factory in July 1957, this powerful car was originally destined for the American market. In 2004 it benefitted from a full restoration in Chicago lasting four years, and it has won several awards at different concours events. One of just 36 examples, this FV4 was delivered with many factory options including power-assisted steering and brakes, tinted, electric windows and Robergel wire wheels.
A touch of La Dolce Vita

This impressive collection of scooters comes to the sale from a French enthusiast. He has been restoring scooters for nearly 40 years, with great passion and precision, and for his own enjoyment. He has now decided to sell a part of his collection, as the machines were rarely ridden. The different Lambretta and Vespa models on offer testify to the great inventiveness of both companies. This collection of 17 scooters will be offered at no reserve.
