On May 6, the Piazza Vittoria in Brescia turned into a Mekka for classic car enthusiasts again when the scrutineering for the Mille Miglia took place. The 375 participating teams  and the thousands of spectators had a lot of fun despite the crazy weather that ranged from enduring cold rain via thunderstorms to a blue sunny sky and temperatures in the 22°C range. Unfortunately the event was overshadowed on Saturday by the fatal accident of 77 years old American Harlan Schwartz.
