Solid red is 255 on the Red, Green and Blue scale
and the green and blue values are 0.

If you add values of 255 green and 255 blue to the red
value, you will end up with white.

If you add white to red, the result will be pink.

To find out the color values of an object, select
”Choose Color” from the Edit menu.  Simply activate
the color selector tool and click in the area containing
the color in question.  Now move the color lever to find
the setting of the color you like.

In our case, we see that adding red would not help
because the object already has the maximum value of
red (255).

We can see from the ”Choose Color” dialogue that the
object contacts too much green and blue.

For our solution, we will apply the ”Color Balance” tool and since we are only correcting the red value, we will
select red.

We will also reduce green and blue, as well as reduce the brightness of red.
