Yesterday fell the final curtain on the first Cavallino Classic
organized by Canossa Events. Some news was introduced
including a new logo and new awards but the major things did not
change. After the great solo Ferrari concours at the Breakers the
Cavallino Classics went back to Mar-a-Lago for the multi-marque
gathering at the famous country club in Palm Beach. After the
transition in the last year and the difficult organization in the
middle of a pandemic with the postponed classics finally
Mar-a-Lago was back on the program. |
The BR20 is a two-seater V12 coupé developed on the
GTC4Lusso platform, which in terms of its philosophy and
styling approach, cleverly references the magnificent Ferrari
coupés of the 1950s and 60s, without the slightest hint of
nostalgia. Instead, it pulls off the challenging feat of marrying
timeless elegance with muscular sportiness, effortlessly
incorporating styling themes typical of some of the most iconic
12-cylinders in Ferrari history, including the 410 SA and 500
Superfast. |
2021 marked 125 years since the original Emancipation Run, first
held in 1896 to celebrate the recently passed Locomotives on
Highways Act. This had raised the speed limit for “light
locomotives” from 4 to 14mph and abolished the need for a man
to walk ahead waving a red flag. The way things are going in
London at the moment with multiple 20mph zones, we’ll soon be
back to the dawn of motoring! Actually we probably are already in
terms of average traffic speeds. |
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 has been awarded the “Grand Prize:
Most Beautiful Supercar 2022” by a panel of expert judges at the

annual award is held to pay tribute to the sports car chosen by a
panel of influential personalities from the world of motoring for its
design and aesthetic beauty. The same jury awarded Ferrari’s
Chief Design Officer, Flavio Manzoni, with the Grand Prize of
Design, in recognition of his original, creative and influential work
in the automotive sector. |
The main current themed exhibition running at the Museo Ferrari
in Maranello is titled Hypercars (L’Evoluzione Dell’Unicita/The
Evolution of Uniqueness), the name being self explanatory. It
shows the journey of Ferraris limited production, ultimate
performance through from the GTO (288) of 1984, through the
F40, F50 and Enzo, to the current LaFerrari and its track-only
evolution, the FXX-K Evo. Also included in the line-up is a styling
mannequin of the unique P80/C, constructed as part of the
company’s special projects operation. |
“La Macchina del tempo – Museo Storico Alfa Romeo” is the
heart of a genuine “brand center”, with a bookshop, café,
Documentation Center, test drive track, events venues and a
show-room with a customer delivery area: it is the perfect bond
between past, present and future. In Arese, next to Milan city
center and the Expo area. |

“Who do you think you are? Stirling Moss?” This, so the story
goes, is what a policeman asked the legendary British racing
driver following a particularly ‘daring’ overtaking manoeuvre on the
streets of London. “Yes sir, I am” was the honest reply. There’s a
nod to this legendary tale – and a number of other aspects of
Moss’s life and career – in “The Last Blast”, a new short film by
Mercedes-Benz Classic. A police motorcycle outrider
admonishes the over-enthusiastic driver of the very
Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR made famous by Moss’s win in the
1955 Mille Miglia race. |

Starting from Maserati’s roots to plan its future: the values of
exclusivity, unique design and 100% Italian DNA of cars of the
past are renewed today in the models that mark the Brand’s
New Era. It is in this spirit that Maserati celebrates the 70th
anniversary of the A6G 2000. The first A6G 2000, a car
representative of the A6 series, built by Maserati from 1947 to
1956 and named in homage to Alfieri Maserati (hence the letter
A) with a 6 indicating the engine type (straight 6) was delivered
exactly 70 years ago, in February 1951.. |
The Ferrari SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano has set the fastest
lap recorded by a production car at the 2.439-mile Indianapolis
Motor Speedway road course, lapping the circuit at an
impressive 1:29.625 seconds at a maximum speed of 174.6
mph to set this time. “It was a great moment to witness, seeing
how the impressive performance of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale
put down this lap record on July 15,” says Mark Raffauf, Senior
Director of Race Operations at International Motor Sports
Association (IMSA), which oversaw the test. |
The Museo Lamborghini is situated to the right of the main
entrance of the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, which is a
historic small town in the countryside, approximately mid way
between Bologna and Modena. A bonus of its location right on
the factory premises is that one will see cars being taken out on
test, and maybe even spot the odd prototype. The factory is on
the main SP 255, Via Modena, on the outskirts of the town, but
within walking distance of the historic centre, and is still the site
on which Ferruccio Lamborghini established the original factory in
1963. |
After almost 2 years of deprivations 2022 starts again with the
annual Ferrari events of the Cavallino Classic in Florida. Last year
was postponed to April due to the pandemic and so the premiere
edition of the new organisation of Canossa Events who took over
the show just a few months before was only a transition year and
the 30rd Cavallino Classic was basically still organized by the old
team. Now in 2022 the first changes of the new format came into
play that are set to bring the classics into the future attracting not
only those who attend the event for years but also a new and
younger public. |

Ferrari opens its first Tailor Made Center in the United States
today in New York City. The only space of its kind in the
Americas, this new Center continues the long-standing tradition

Tailor Made Center in 2011, followed by the Shanghai Tailor Made
Center in 2014. |

A 1934 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe and a 2017
Cadillac DPi-V.R were crowned this year’s Best in Show winners
on March 6, 2022, at The Amelia Concours d’Elegance — its
27th annual event. Marking the inaugural year under Hagerty’s

complemented the event’s long tradition of showcasing the
world’s finest vehicles at the Golf Club of Amelia Island and the
Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Central to the weekend’s festivities
was the celebration of The Amelia’s 2022 honoree: accomplished

Ferrari’s future on the GT racing scene takes shape and develops
around the volumes of the 296 GTB, redefining it according to
track and performance requirements and giving life to the 296
GT3. This model takes up the legacy of the 488 GT3 which, in its
standard and Evo 2020 configurations, has picked up 107 titles
from its debut race to date, with 429 wins from 770 starts. These
extraordinary figures make it the most successful car in Prancing
Horse history. |
On 12 March 1947, Enzo Ferrari started up the Ferrari 125 S, the
first car to bear his name. The Ferrari that crossed the Maranello
gates in 1947 was more than a new car, it was a declaration of
intent, and the beginning of a 75-year culture of excellence built
on craftsmanship, dedication, tradition and innovation. It is a
culture that has created a stream of automotive masterpieces,
each destined to transcend time. |
On 16 to 20 March 2022, two years after the last edition of the
Rétromobile Salon, Artcurial Motorcars returned to the show
with a new tribute to the Collectors’ Car, displaying over 170
vehicles on their stand, spread over more than half a hectare.

throughout the sale. The Artcurial team spoke from the
rostrum, and also on camera, walking round the cars, the
specialists Antoine Mahé and Benjamin Arnaud with
microphone in hand, turning the sale into a real show. |

You could feel the energy in the packed room as all eyes fell
on the pair of stunning Formula One cars offered from the
private collection of former World Champion Nigel Mansell. It is
an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire two completely original
Formula One cars directly from their World Champion owner
and driver and, as expected, both machines found delighted
new owners. Selling for €1 million over the high estimate, the
iconic ‘Senna Taxi’ 1991 Williams FW14 was the undoubted
star of the show with a final sale price of €4,055,000 after a
heated bidding battle. Equally as stunning and historic, Nigel
Mansell’s 1989 Ferrari 640 crossed the block at €3,605,000. |

Schumacher, is in pole position for the Bonhams Festival of

Formula 1 cars running in the world - contested five races in the
1993 Formula 1 season with Patrese at the wheel. |
After dominating the second half of the Six Hours of The Glen,
Ferrari came up less than five minutes short of a GTD Pro
class victory in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
competition on Sunday. Making its first visit to The Glen in six
years, Risi Competizione was forced from the lead to pit lane
for a quick splash of fuel for the No. 62 Pennzoil Ferrari 488
GT3 Evo 2020 co-driven by David Rigon and Daniel Serra
with just over four minutes remaining in the race. The duo had
gained enough ground to still cross the line in second place
after numerous post-race penalties were applied due to
drive-time infractions from other competitors. |

The Mille Miglia is without doubt one of the most prestigious
and best-known classic car rallyes and well know above the
borders of Italy. Originally ran from 1927-1957 the long-distance
road race was part of the sportscar world championship and
both cemented the myth of Alfa Romeo before the war and
Ferrari after, both with most of the victories in their period. After
Sir Stirling Moss setting the eternal record in the
Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR in 1955 accompanied by Denis
“Jenks” Jenkinson and the final edition in 1957 once again won
by Ferrari with the 315S in the hands of Pierro Taruffi the
engines remained silent for 20 years before a revival of
