Only Three Ferrari to be entered in the
24 Hours of Le Mans

Le Mans, March 2, 1999

Two 333 SPs and one 550 Maranello
Three Ferrari are among the 62 vehicles which were invited by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) to take part in the pre-qualifying to the 24 Hours of Le Mans which will take place on May 2 – despite of the fact that there had initially been more teams which planned to enter one or several Ferrari in the famous endurance race.
The LMP category for open sports cars will see two 333 SP entered by the Team Jabouille-Bouresche; let’s hope that they will perform in a way during the qualifying session which will ensure that one will see the cars again in the legendary race on June 11 and 12. The drivers have not yet been announced by the 1998 ISRS winning team.
Another Ferrari will compete in the GT3 category which will be – by the way – the category with the poorest turnout of cars since there are only seven entries to date. However, the car in question will be a 550 Maranello (!) entered by the Team Red Racing. The Ferrari will be prepared by Giuliano Michelotto of Padova and they pilots are Lucien Guitteny – well known through the Western European F355 Challenge – and P. Camus.
