Tour Auto heads for Spain

 

Peter Auto heads for the sunny Andalusia. In close co-operation with the Andalusian Autonomous Goverment, the RACE, the Spanish Automobile Federation, the Andalusian Automobile Federartion, a ofter version of the French rally, will be organized. The Tour de Espana Classic is dedicated to competitors who aim for a sporting rally, but allowing spare time to enjoy landscapes and the mild climate of Andalusia while the North of Europe will start a dull season.

The Tour de Espana Classic, on the sporting side

The Tour de Espana Classic will offer a competition and a regularity section. The regulations are similar to the Tour Auto rules. A maximum of 70 cars will be accepted. They must be Grand Touring and Sports Casrs built between 1946 and 1975. The competitors are allowed to apply for a support vehicle. The rally will include at least two special stages a day and will propose two sessions on the Jerez race track.

The Tour de Espana Classic, on the socialising side

The Tour de Espana Classic will not have to envy the Tour Auto ambience. The limited number of entrants is more favourable to socialise or to enjoy the friends company. The legs length will not exceed 200 up to 300 km. The early daily finish will leave time to visit the city. Golf players will also be able to participate in a golf tournament organised in this Spanish region dedicated to this sport.

14/Oct - Check-in and Scrutineering in Jerez de la Frontera
15/Oct - Jerez/Marbella, special stages in El Bosque and El Gastor and a session on the circuit of Jerez
16/Oct - Marbella/Cordoba, special stages in Montes de Malaga and El Lagar
17/Oct - Codoba/Jerez, special stage in Montellano and a session on the circuit of Jerez

Entries sent before June, 30th, 1999 will benefit from a priority.
The entry fee is 2750 Euro and includes the entry, catering and accommodation.
