For years, the annual Essen Motor Show has been Germany’s final automotive event of the season, and it is always held at the exposition area of Essen in Germany’s Ruhr area.

The show has its roots back in the early 1970’s when it was named "Jochen Rindt Show", being basically an exposition for the motor sport. After the event had been renamed "Essen Motor Show", it soon turned into the major show for the tuning business, and almost every important manufacturer of cars has decided subsequently to be present there as well. Today, the Essen Motor Show combines areas for the automobile industry, the tuning business, classic car dealers and a special "Showcenter"; the latter features classics of particular interest and exposits related to certain themes (e.g. "James Bond cars", "Bugatti", "Phil Hill", just to name a few of the topics which were covered in recent years).

In 1998, "Ferrari" will be one of these themes. Celebrating Enzo Ferrari’s 100th birthday, one has decided to gather some Ferrari automobiles of particular interest at Essen. At this point we have no idea of which cars will be on display.

The Essen Motor Show will be open daily between November 27 and December 6 from ten o’clock until six o’clock in the evening. More information can be obtained from S.I.H.A. GmbH:
