New York, 26 May, 2016

Bonhams’ annual auction of collectors’ cars, held in conjunction with the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance, is just around the corner and it’s a pleasure to announce a very special Ferrari leading an extensive and impressive list of consigned sportscars.

The Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is not just one of the most iconic and sought after mid-century V12 models from Maranello, but this particular 1967 car is an aficionado’s dream. Just three owners from new, it’s been in the current ownership for more than four decades beginning back in the mid-1970s when the vendor found the car in The New York Times classifieds.

Having been in the New York City area since 1970, this matching numbers, European-specification Ferrari has been meticulously maintained and well documented. Designed by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti, this 275 GTB/4 is presented in its original and rare livery of Verde Pino over Nero – a very distinct and attractive color combination that compliments the famously aggressive appearance of this legendary machine.

Other notable Ferraris consigned – from a long and remarkable roster of sportscars, not just from Italy but also from Germany, America and Britain – include:

   • 1989 Ferrari F40 – a well-optioned, European-spec example with fewer than 9,000 original kilometers and recently serviced.

   • 2005 Ferrari 575M Superamerica – 1 of only 43 with manual transmission, heavily optioned, fewer than 11,800 miles, and a single owner from new.

   • 1986 Ferrari Testarossa – the desirable single mirror model from long-term ownership and with only 3,8000 original miles.

Additional noteworthy Italian sportscars among the many include a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupe, a 1962 Maserati 3500 GTI Superleggera, a 1952 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT Series II, and a 1973 Maserati Bora 4.9 – a Giugiaro masterpiece.

For more information on these cars, or the other 100 automobiles from makes like Porsche, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz, please visit bonhams.com/greenwich.

This highly-anticipated auction takes place just 30 miles from New York City in the lovely waterfront Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Connecticut on Sunday, June 5th.
