Val de Vienne, 08-13 June, 2021

With the Covid pandemic still being an active concern throughout Europe, organising an event like "Sport et Collection" remained a challenge. In the first half of 2021, most events were still being cancelled or at least postponed. But with Sport et Collection being an important charity event in the fight against cancer, the organizers went out of their way to ensure that the event would take place.

Originally scheduled to start June 4th, shifting it by a week once government guidances were finally formalized just a short month prior, allowed attendance to be raised from only 1,000 to 5,000 spectators and participants.

Despite the last-minute rescheduling, and the mandated Covid testing for anyone wishing to attend, organisers still managed to draw over 350 Ferrari to the center of France. A great accomplished for a good cause.

Among the noticeable cars were the 340MM s/n 0294MM, and 512M s/n 1050, both regular appearances at the event. The oldest Ferrari was the 212 Inter Touring Berlinetta s/n 0167EL from the Anna Lisa Collection, and the most modern a brand-new Portofino M.

Other vintages included two 250 GTE, a 275 GTB, and a few Daytonas. Several race cars could also be admired, like a 308 GTB Michelotto, two 599xx, a 458 GT3, two Formula 1 cars, the 312 B2 s/n 005 and the F92A s/n 131. One also had the chance to see Arturo Merzario driving an Abarth 2000 Sport Spider and the 312 B2.

Let’s all be hopeful that next year’s edition will be back to a full roster, and will allow the safe return of all the fans of this very nice, and worthy event.
