Monte Carlo July, 1 2019

For four days, this prestigious event brought together the most beautiful cars in the world, offering an amazing journey through time to automobile enthusiasts.

On Thursday, June 27th the first of the 47 cars arrived at 2 PM on the Terrasses du Soleil in Monte-Carlo. A remarkable location enjoyed by a swelling crowd of spectators. The next day, Friday, offered a pleasant ride into the countryside on the winding roads of the Côte d’Azur. Mid way, attendees enjoyed a picnic at the Domaine du Mont Leuz. Early in the afternoon the drivers made their way back to the Principality for the meeting with the jury, giving them an opportunity to share details about their cars.

This year, the jury for the Elégance et Automobile à Monte-Carlo was chaired by Sandra Button, the president of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, supported by Lorena Baricalla (Monégasque ballerina, singer, actress and automobile connoisseur), Lorenzo Ramaciotti (former Group Chief of Design for Pininfarina and former Group Chief of Design for FCA) and Thierry Boutsen (former Formula 1 driver).

Saturday the 29th, saw every car parade on the place du Casino de Monte-Carlo. From the oldest vehicle, a 1914 Mercedes 28/95 Phaeton, to the most recent, a 2019 Maserati Sciadipersa Cabriolet, each passed by the Jury seated at the Hôtel de Paris.

On Sunday, the final day, the 47 entries gathered at the place du Palais Princier at 11 AM for the award ceremony. 9 winners were named by the jury, with a special prize given to the Lancia Stratos Zero of Phillip Sarofim.
