1953 Fiat OttoVu Tipo 106 Sport Berlinetta

Estimate: €1,100,000 - 1,300,000

This extraordinary model was launched at the Turin Motor Show in 1952. Just 34 examples of the 1st series Rapi version were produced, making it highly eligible for the Mille Miglia and other prestigious race and concours events. This example still has its original engine, which runs like clockwork, and its original interior featuring the extravagant dashboard designed specifically for the model. It is a car that will attract huge interest amongst the most discerning collectors.

« This sale will offer an exciting range of automobiles at very attractive prices, reflecting the current market. It is the perfect opportunity for collectors to acquire the models they are looking for ! And we are delighted to be presenting, the star of the show, this highly rare Fiat 8V Rapi with its legendary engine, that contributed to the marque’s history in competition » according to Matthieu Lamoure, Managing Director, Artcurial Motorcars.

1924 Bugatti Type 23 Biplace Sport

Estimate: €550,000 – 650,000

This very special Bugatti has passed through the hands of several important collectors including Henri Malartre, one of the first men to preserve these early cars and build an automotive heritage who founded the motor museum in Rochetaillée. This car has competed no less than eight times in the Mille Miglia Historic. The Type 23, also known as the « Brescia », was the first Bugatti to feature an engine with four valves per cylinder, making it exceptional in its day.

Five collections and some modern highlights

There will be several collections in the sale including a special group of four Ferrari dating from the 1970s to the 2000s, belonging to Raymond Jeannot. Also, ten cars from a Monegasque enthusiast featuring a 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE Series 1 as well as a splendid array of convertibles ranging from a 1975 VW Beetle cabriolet to the rather more flamboyant 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Cabriolet.

The sale will also present some notable modern supercars including a 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Coupé, a 2002 Lamborghini Murcielago and the spectacular 2008 Porsche 997 GT3 that was delivered new to Anthony Beltoise, crowned champion of the 2008 Porsche Carrera Cup France in this car.

There will also be a selection of more affordable collectors’ items, including the 1969 Renault 8 Gordini that won its class in the 1969 Hungarian Rally Championship (estimate €40,000 – 60,000), and a 1988 Ferrari Testarossa in original condition with 34 361km on the clock (estimate €20,000 – 30,000, no reserve).

Collectors’ motorcycles in the spotlight

Forty-seven motorcycles will come under the hammer in this year’s sale, with an important European collection of 43 classic motorcycles taking centre stage. The majority of these highly collectable machines are sought-after, low mileage examples in highly orignal condition and all will be offered at no reserve.

The collection, stored for many years in a private museum, comprises a wide range of marques and models, from classic Italian bikes such as the 1967 Benelli Sport Leoncino 125 (estimate €1,000 - 2,000) to sought-after German machines including the very special 1937 Zündapp K 800 Side-Car (estimate €30,000 - 35,000). One of BMW’s greatest successes will also star in the sale : the BMW R80 G/S. This model launched the GS range in 1980 and became a best¬seller for the marque.
