RM Sotheby's Brings 31 Pioneering Automobiles to the Big Apple

NEW YORK, New York, 19 October 2015

With the countdown underway to RM Sotheby�s final event of the year, their 250-page catalogue is now online, visually capturing the essence of the December 10 New York auction � disruption.

The compilation showcases the 31 pioneering automobiles handpicked for the sale, along with the select memorabilia on offer. Collectively, the vehicles illustrate the extremes of motoring history and the molds that were broken by engineers and designers in pushing the automotive envelope. Each is considered �disruptive� in its own way, whether for its genre, design or engineering.

Among the highlights are

·	a 1956 Ferrari 290 MM by Scaglietti, a car specifically built for Juan

Manuel Fangio to contest the Mille Miglia, the 3rd round of the World Sportscar Championship that year (Est. $28,000,000 - $32,000,000);

·	a 1953 Chrysler Special Coupe by Ghia, a landmark styling trendsetter,

the most famous of the 18 examples built (Est. $700,000 - $900,000);

·	a beautifully restored 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series I, the 14th of

just 40 Series I Cabriolets built, the perfect blend of sporting and elegance (Est. $6,000,000 - $7,500,000);

·	a highly optioned 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring, one of the

finest examples extant, striking in its rare and original Signal Yellow color (Est. $900,000 - $1,100,000);

·	a road-going 1981 BMW M1, a superlative example of BMW�s ultimate

supercar (Est. $800,000 - $1,000,000); and,

a 2003 Ferrari Enzo, a car that seamlessly combines Formula 1-inspired technology with groundbreaking design, formerly owned by renowned boxer, Floyd Mayweather (Est. $3,000,000 - $3,500,000).
