Friday, 21st of January

The annual Cavallino Classics are in full swing with the first 2 days over. Traditionally the event is opened by track days on the Palm Beach International Raceway (formerly known as the Moroso Motorsports Park) where the owners can enjoy their cars on track before they are shown on the following days at the concours. Unfortunately the historic Ferrari group was rather small this year with just 8 cars on the track on both days. After a day of practice on Thursday they went out today for their “races” in the categories historic, GT and sport.
In the historic race the cars settled down on their positions in the first lap as they had quite a different speed due to the different age of the cars and skills of the drivers. Just the two fore running 512 BBLM where out to play and changed position almost every lap.
Just with the lunch break the rain set in and the next race (historic group) was cancelled after a few laps behind the safety car. After that the track was open again but without much activities during the rest of the afternoon.

On the social side the Cavallino Classics features several receptions to associate the interest in fine cars with the interest in Jets and Yachts. On Thursday evening the Jet Aviation Party gave to visitors the opportunity to get informations about the latests Jets on the Market and the lines in front of the planes showed the high interest.
Today we headed for the marina Palm Beach to have a look at some yachts. The very well-informed visitors had many questions about the yachts currently for sale and it won´t be a surprise if this culminate in some sales in near future. For the less wealthy it was a great opportunity to go on board of these gems and gain a first-hand impression.

The next two days will see the highlights of this week with the Ferrari concours in the famous Breakers and the Classic Sports Sunday in the Mar-a-Lago.
