skipped the race because of insufficient starting money.
There is also a rumor that Carl-Otto Bremer advised
Askolin to follow him to Nürburgring 1000 km race. |

gasket on left cylinder bank
generated lot of smoke, engine consumed
both oil and water. Car was painted dark blue with
very wide light blue stripe and white pinstripe at the time.
44,386 kms on the odometer. Overhauled
after the event.
