JMB wins SRWC Round 1 in Barcelona

 

 

Barcelona, March 27, 2000

Ferrari celebrated victory in Sao Paulo as well as in the Sports Car World Cup in Barcelona. Christian Pescatori and David Terrien won a first round of the season at the wheel of the JMB (Jean Michel Bouresche) Ferrari, leaving the second placed 333 SP of Giovanni Lavaggi (started from pole) and Nicolas Filiberti 19.9 seconds behind.

The two Ferraris were battling for the lead. The decision fell, when there were problems with the driver change between Lavaggi and Filiberti. Lavaggi's comment "without the problem during the driver change we would have we won the race! "

BMS Scuderia Italia 333 SP steered by Angelo Zadra and ex-Audi STW and Indy Lights front runner Philipp Peter finished 4th. The team's other 333 SP driven by Lilian Bryner, Enzo Calderari and Zadra finished fifth and in ninth was Giraudi and Lancelotti.
