The chassis is type 590A, a special super lightweight chassis, which Scaglietti skinned in a super lightweight aluminum. It was constructed of .028 inch alloy, or about half the thickness of the standard 275'S.  The engine is a factory 213 competizione engine, utilizing the 250 LM powerplant with updates and changes. Full dry sump motor (22 quart). The block was the second series standard four mount GTB block with the external reinforcing ribs on the sides of the casting. The motor was designed with a special racing crankshaft and forged racing pistons. It was originally built with a 9.3:1 compresion ratio. The cams operated needle bearing rocker arms as used on the GTO'S. In order to achieve an extremely light weight for the car, many engine parts were cast in electron, an alloy of magnesium.
