London, 06 May 2009

The latest in the worldwide chain of Ferrari Stores was officially opened by Ferrari F1 team driver Kimi Raikkonen on 06 May 2009, who cut the ribbon at 11.00am. The ribbon cutting ceremony was preceded by a parade of a dozen Ferraris through the streets to the store, ranging from a 250 GT LWB California Spider to the latest California Spider, with  a complete set of supercars, GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo, plus Nick Mason's 250 GTO, which had their own cordoned off parking area just around the corner from the store. Word must have leaked out about Kimi's arrival, as there were large crowds lining the specially erected barriers along the edge of the pavement, and when he arrived it was the usual photographer's bun fight to scramble for the best location.

The store is situated in one on the prime shopping locations in the town, Regent Street, in the heart of the West End, immediately opposite Hamleys, the renowned toy retailer, now in their 249th year of trading. The new store is on two floors, and houses an impressive range of Ferrari licensed products, ranging from clothing for babes in arms through to the full range of F1 team gear. As with the other outlets in the chain, it also has a great selection of Ferrari related items, including leather goods, models, toys and books. It is also disabled user friendly, with wide aisles and a lift serving the lower level. Definitely worth any Ferrari enthusiasts time to pay a visit when in London.
