The Ferrari Owners Club Florida Region was established by Regional Coordinator David
Bobé in 2001.
While being a brand new Region, members of the Ferrari Owners Club Florida Region
are no strangers to Ferrari events in Florida. The rapidly growing Florida Region has far
exceeded membership and event expectations from it's first track event, "Ferraris at the
Swamp" at the Gainesville International Raceway which took place in August of 2001.
David Bobé and members of the FOC Florida Region Board of Directors had one clear
goal when starting the new Region; members and guests having fun and enjoying their
Ferraris without worrying about political agendas. The idea has caught on as the Florida
Region has rapidly gained over 70 members in less than six months!
It is the intention of the FOC Florida Region to have upwards of 4-5 track weekends along
with numerous Concours, Rallies and social events all over the State of Florida
throughout the year. The Regional Coordinator has raised his expectations of only 40
new members in the first year up to150 as enthusiastic Ferrari owners from all over
Florida are joining this exciting, new Region.
Along with first class track events (featuring top driving instructors) at circuits such as the
Sebring International Raceway, Moroso Motorsports Park and the Homestead/Miami
International Raceway, the Ferrari Owners Club Florida Region also hosts outstanding
Rallies, socials and Concours events welcoming anyone interested to attend.
One of the features that separates the FOC Florida Region from other motoring clubs is
the addition of the GT Class at track events. Now, owners of racing cars such as Ferrari
360 or 355 Challenge may run on course with pure bred vintage/ collectable sportscars
and even the odd former NASCAR Chevrolet Monte Carlo! The FOC Florida Region GT
Class had it's first trial at the October 2001 "Celebration of a Championship" event at the
Homestead/Miami International Raceway and it was an instant hit.
FOC Florida Region members are kept informed about club events through their dynamic
website and bi-monthly newsletter TIFOSI. In less than six months, the FOC Florida
Region's outstanding website has received over 200,000 hits with visitors from over 48
countries tuning in to the club's activities.
TIFOSI is already receiving acclaim as one of the most innovative and dynamic auto club
newsletter magazines in America. TIFOSI's combination of full color images and
graphics along with interesting feature articles by knowledgeable Ferraristi has created a
sensation and is raising the bar for other auto club newsletters to follow.
The Ferrari Owners Club Florida Region is a dynamic and growing Region. A visit to any
of the Region's numerous activities will reveal members and guests enjoying their
Ferraris while renewing old friendships and making new ones in a relaxed atmosphere.
